Tasty Q’s

TastyQ

I don’t think enough people know about this little lunch spot in Yreka. About a year ago Wini and her business partner Terry moved from their retail shop in the Bottling Works Mall in Yreka to sublet the soda fountain that shares space with the Yreka Chamber of Commerce at 117 West Miner St.

What’s cool about TastyQ’s is how much care they put into choosing their ingredients - low sodium and low sugar - for those of us who care. For those who don’t, you can’t taste the difference. The homemade vegetable soup is the star of the show! Come summer most of the ingredients come straight from Wini’s garden. Homemade chili - chicken pot pie - sandwiches - salads - hot dogs - homemade pie and ice cream. The key word here is ‘homemade!’ You just can’t get that flavor from a can or a bucket.

Also cute place to bring the kiddos for an ice cream cone or sundae!

Just a side note - If your power goes out on the south end of town, TastyQ’s will most likely still have power - but be sure to call first and ask!

They do prepare good food. I only have two wishes…. better (more) hours open ~ have the time when we stop by they are closed…. and too bad the original fountain seating is nearly gone. The original 50’s fountain was sooooo cooool!
