I don’t know who this guy is. I stumbled on his blog through a google search (I don’t even remember what I was searching for). Appears to be a native Yrekan, spelunker, homebrewer, music enthusiast, self-proclaimed geek, teacher, cook…. credentials that hold a lot of merit in my book! Thanks for the plug (maybe now I should get back to blogging regularly). And kudos on this site. This is *exactly* the kind of thing Siskiyou County needs. Seriously, the “stuff to do” section? Brilliant! Exactly the kind of resource folks up there need to find, establish, and build cultural momentum.
It’s odd though, looking back on my MMA post. Since the time I wrote that, I’ve seen MMA rise to prominence *everywhere,* not just Siskiyou, and I’ve sort of made my peace with it as a result. So I suppose I may indeed be “backing down” from my statement that “it’s for troglodytes.” I guess it’s just not for me. Nevertheless, I stand by my statement that Siskiyou County needs some revitalization, and MMA matches and Jolly’s Club shouldn’t be the *only* options for social venues…
