Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery

Mt Shasta fish hatchery

The Mt Shasta Fish Hatchery is my kind of entertainment! It’s a great place to take the kids and grandmas alike. It’s simple, free and tons of fun; though, you should remember to bring some quarters to buy handfuls of fish food. When you toss in the fish food the water goes from this still, clear water…………

to this wild feeding frenzy!!!

One day we got to watch the feeding truck. That was a riot! This truck has a feed shoot and it drives down each fish pond shooting food into the water. As the truck goes past, the water erupts with splashing fish. That was soooo fun!

canadian tourist

This tourist came all the way from Canada to visit the Mt. Shasta Fish Hatchery, so what are YOU waiting for? Grab the kids, the grandmas and a handful of quarters and go!

While you are there be sure to go next door to visit the Sisson Museum. It’s a fun little museum. The kids really like it too because they have a small gift shop. I bought a stuffed bear in a can last summer! Cute!
