The third installment of local nurseries goes to Scott Valley Feed. Scott Valley Feed isn’t well known…. yet. Funny they don’t advertise (that I know of). It seems to be a word of mouth approach to marketing. So, now that you’ve been told, you can head over and check it out for yourself - then be sure to tell someone else about it, because that’s the way it works:)

The thing that will immediately strike you about Scott Valley Feed is their selection. They have the largest selection in Yreka without question! I’ve been able to go there with a short list of specific plants that I read about in some magazine or saw a picture of in some book and Scott Valley Feed was the only nursery that carried them, simply because they carry so many things.

The other neat thing about Scott Valley Feed is that they have lots of “stuff”, meaning everything from gardening tools, sprinklers, pet food, livestock feed, seeds, bulbs, containers and decorative things - things that make good gifts - they even have house plants! This makes it a fun place for ‘browsing’. I’ve been known to go there ‘just to look’. (That’s a rare thing in Yreka)

I suppose one of the reasons Scott Valley Feed is not as well known as it could be (besides lack of advertising) :) is because it really is ‘out of the way’, but you really should make the effort to find it. They are on Lucas Road which is off of Greenhorn Road in Yreka.
