Camping in Siskiyou County

Despite our nearly two weeks of rainy weather, I know what’s on your mind. You’re thinking about planning that ever anticipated summer camping trip. The weather is just starting to warm up and you can’t get stop fantasizing about that smokey campfire smell, the bright, starry sky and those gooey, chocolaty smores.

I, personally, can’t help but imagine the weeks of list making, shopping, meal planning, more lists, arguing about what you can bring and what you can not bring, worrying about what’s been forgotten, loading the car, unloading the car, pitching the tent, starting the fire, smelling the port-a-potty, greasy hair and dirt in my food and the threat of poison oak. Yeah - that sounds fun. How about pitching a tent in the back yard and calling it good?

But for those of you that don’t mind all that stuff and even thrive on it, here are a few resources for your camping needs.

Siskiyou county boasts a huge array of camping options. You can camp in the mountains, by a river or a lake. You can fish, raft, swim. You can hike, hunt, mine or just go sight seeing. You might even see bigfoot!

These links list the campgrounds in our area and give a little info about them.
