Yreka Third Street Inn Bed & Breakfast

So I had an errand to run this week and as things do, one thing led to another and I got to meet one of the innkeepers at the Third Street Bed and Breakfast and got a tour. Rich Nidever and his wife are relatively recent transplants to Yreka from the Chico area. They purchased this darling historic house and converted it into Yreka’s ONLY bed & breakfast. Rich’s mother Hedley Cooper is the ‘on-site’ innkeeper and cook.

Third Street Inn has 4 rooms - all unique and all pristine! I know because I was a housekeeper for a couple different bed & breakfasts in Ashland. I know what ‘clean’ is and what it takes to get there. Third Street Inn is CLEAN! I love that!

You can visit their website to get more information about the accommodations, but I can honestly say that the pictures do not do the rooms justice - (neither do mine). The rooms are much nicer in person. The most popular room is the cottage, which is separate from the main house. Rich says, “it is THE most romantic room in Yreka!” I believe it! It’s the perfect get away for any couple.

Bed & breakfasts are a unique experience. You really should try it at least once. The food is better than anything you’d get at a local restaurant and it’s fun to meet people. You may even learn something new - who doesn’t like that!

Yreka has one bed & breakfast. I’m so pleased it’s such a nice one!

That’s a good looking spot. Don’t you often wonder how fun it would be to just book a room in a place like that in your own town? Pack your suitcase and just drive three miles and make yourself at home-away-from-home. We’ve got a couple like that here in Dunsmuir, and it would make a nice inexpensive weekend or just a night away. Maybe we’ll come to Yreka and you come to Dunsmuir…

That’s a great idea, Dave. Rich commented that there have been more than a couple local honeymooners that have stayed in the cottage~it is so cozy and so romantic (and private)!

Thanks so much for the great review! Yes, we would love it if more locals came to our place; with the price of gas these days, spending vacations locally may become a more popular idea. And your wonderful blog makes it easy for local residents to find out about all the great things there are to do here in “Siskiyoutopia.”

The Third Street Inn is a very nice place, located within walking distance of the Historic District of Yreka!

I am the Web Designer for their new site, which if all goes as planned, it will be up and running by the end of July!

I am honored to have the opportunity to work with Rich and Hedley as their B&B really will provide guest with a historic view of Yreka!

My sisters, my mom and I stayed at the Inn last October and had a great time! The home is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the breakfast was fresh and fantastic! Rich and Hedley really know how to make you feel comfortable!
