One thing that is great about summer…. camp!!! Oh yeah, baby! One fabulous week of freedom… relaxation…. quiet… a clean house….one week free of constant questions like, “hey mom, I was just wondering if maybe I could go out back and, um, stack all the patio furniture up, and then I could climb up to the top of the garage and then, if it’s ok, um, I was just wondering if we could take my skateboard and tape the neighbor’s cat, you know, “princess” to it, and see if, you know, she’d land with the wheels side down, you know, cause then we’d be able to tell if, um, cat’s land on their feet and stuff…..mom?….mom?…” Yea ~ no more of that!!! OMGoodness!!
So if you want to send your kid away to a quality camp, Kidder Creek is THE place to send them. This little Eden is only about an half hour outside of Yreka, between Fort Jones and Etna.
My little whipper snapper has refused to try ‘Ranch Camp’ for the past 3 years because she supposedly “hates horses” (she’s gone to Timberline camp instead). Well this year we sprung it on her - “you’re going to Ranch camp today!” At first she cried, then she managed to get packed and by the time we dropped her off she was grinning from ear to ear. Of course it all worked out. She loved ranch camp! She’s home now….. “hey mom, I was just wondering if maybe, um, you know, if I could, um, have a horse?”…. OMGoodness!!! …should have seen that coming!
On a more serious note, Kidder Creek has been such a blessing to my daughter and us too. The counselors and staff are absolutely darling, energetic, young people! The grounds and facilities are spectacular, and the kids come home inspired at least and transformed at best!
