Septemberfest in Yreka

We had a fun time at Septemberfest. It was actually more work than fun as we volunteered to video tape the events of the day for our local community TV station, Channel 4.

The husband is a great ham, I mean, emcee:) And I’m pretty happy being the tech crew. Since my hands were pretty full with a video camera I put the kid in charge of blog photos.

Here’s what you get when an 11 year old is in charge of photos ~ dogs, shadows, jewelry, mom’s hair, Hanna Montana, cartoons from the Disney poster, favorite 4th grade teacher and more dogs!

This was an interesting lesson. I definitely learned what catches her eye! Funny kid!!

There was a nice crowd downtown and a many diverse vendors and things going on. There were truffles, pony rides, vikings, llamas, music, food and jewelry ~ your basic Yreka scene:)

We had the privileged honor of attending the LIVE Secrets of Yreka Tour by our own town crier, I mean liar, Jerry Murphy. Speaking of hams! Oh My!! We laughed, moaned, groaned and chuckled at the true, fictional stories of the residents of Yreka’s Third Street district. It was pure entertainment!!

So that was Septemberfest. Next month is Oktoberfest at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds and in Dunsmuir. Why is Oktoberfest spelled with a ‘K’? And if we have Septemberfest and Oktoberfest, why don’t we have Novemberfest, Decemberfest, Janufest, Febufest, Marchfest, Aprifest, Junfest, Julyfest, or Augufest? And when do the Crab feeds start?
