Montague Balloon Fair

Friday September 19:
• Dawn ascension of the Montague Balloon Fair balloons.
• 5:30 to 7:30 A.M. Coffee & donuts available at launch site, provided by the Shasta Valley Rotary.
• 7 to 11 A.M. Breakfast available at launch site, provided by the Elks.
• 6:30 P.M. Melodrama & barbecue chicken dinner at the Montague Community Hall, hosted by the Scott Valley Rotary. Dinner and show is $25 person or $22 in advance. Call 467-5346 for tickets.
Saturday September 20:
• Dawn ascension of the Montague Balloon Fair balloons.
• 5:30 to 7:30 A.M. Coffee & donuts available at the launch site, provided by Shasta Valley Rotary.
• 6 A.M. The Yreka Western Railroad train arrives with spectators. Contact YWRR for fares and departure time at 842-4146.
• 7 to 11 A.M. Breakfast available at launch site, provided by the Elks.
• 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. Farmers & crafters market at Railroad Park, downtown Montague. For vendor information, call 459-5051.

• 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. Barbecue burgers available at Railroad Park.
• 12:30 P.M. Parade in downtown Montague presented by the Montague Merchants.
• 2 to 3 P.M. Children’s concert by the Wild Roots at Railroad Park, sponsored by Montague Family Resource Center.
• 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. Barbecue sirloin dinner at launch site, prepared and served by the Shasta Valley Rotary Club. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for kids 5 to 12, and under 5 free.
• Dusk - Balloonists night glow at launch site (weather permitting).
• 7 to 10 P.M. Dance at Montague Community Hall featuring Wild Blues Yonder, sponsored by Shepherd’s Dream.
Sunday September 21:
• Final dawn ascension of the 2008 Montague Balloon Fair.
• 5:30 to 7:30 A.M. Coffee & donuts available at launch site, provided by Shasta Valley Rotary.
• 7 to 11 A.M. Breakfast available at launch sit, provided by the Elks.
Note: Public parking for the Montague Balloon Fair is managed by the AAUW as one of its major fundraisers of the year. Parking is free but donations are gratefully accepted.
