Many of my loyal readers probably don’t know that I work in a stock broker’s office. I must say, this has been QUITE a week!!! I’m soooo happy it’s Friday!!! This is one of the most anticipated Friday’s I’ve had in a long time! About ‘18% drop’ anticipated and about a ‘1000 point swing’ anticipated and ‘worst week ever’ anticipated! So this post is a quick tribute to Friday - The best day of the week - well, if not the best day at least it’s one of the cheapest days you’ll see in while! Buy buy!!!!

Aquabots are a ska band that dress in blue superhero costumes and sing cornball adolescent songs (right up my alley:). This is my favorite! It’s a nice shortened version - enjoy!

Now if I were one of those lucky stiffs that are ’self employed’ or better yet retired, and had my Fridays free I’d be listening to Science Friday on NPR. Such a cool show! Great nerdy stuff (again, right up my alley) Here’s their website for those working stiffs like me that don’t get to hear it.

When I was a kid the best thing about Fridays were Creature Features on TV. Anybody remember that? In our town it was broadcast with this wacky host. He was as entertaining as the movies. I couldn’t remember much about him, so I googled him: Bob Wilkins - check out this story about Bob Wilkins. He’s known for encouraging his viewers to watch something else because the movies were so bad! He’d even read the TV Guide so you’d know what else was on! As a kid I couldn’t get enough of these movies though. I’d never turn the channel!! Godzilla vs Mothra, The Thing, Them, War of the Worlds! Oh man, Fridays were the best!! We got to stay up late and my older brother would do his best to get me scared, but we’d just end up laughing! I loved it!!!

One last thing! Starting November 7th, Yreka merchants on Miner Street will be open late on Fridays through Christmas. This is great for the working crowd who don’t have time to shop during the day. Remember to go downtown on Fridays and support our local economy! Yea!!
