Holiday Inn Express Yreka

If you hadn’t noticed Yreka has a new landscape as you travel along I-5 on the north end of town. It’s the brand new Holiday Inn Express sitting atop a little knoll that peers over I-5 and Yreka. The Siskiyoutopia staff popped in the other day for a tour, and I must say, it is soooo beautiful! You know when you sit in a new car you have that ummm…. ‘new car’ feeling, well this place has that ‘new hotel’ feel! It’s exciting!

Sandra Palmer, the manager gave us a tour and showed us all the different styles of rooms. I learned so much! I had no idea there were rooms specially designed for hearing impaired or handicapped guests or that if you want to open your windows (more than a couple inches) you have to stay in a ground floor room. hmph - who knew? The rooms are really nice with granite counter tops and high quality bedding (NONE of those crunchy, polyester bedspreads that stiffen up over time from repeated… ahem…”use” that you have to immediately remove, wad up (preferably with gloves) and stuff in a corner so there is no risk of coming in contact with it at any time during your stay - oooh, shiver, yuk!!). THEY have very nice cotton spreads that are washable - yea! and they have plasma tvs in every room!

The facilities are top notch too! We were really excited about the breakfast room. It’s beautiful with a huge flat screen tv and a fireplace. They also have a nice little pool and exercise room AND they have an elevator! I may be wrong, but I think this is the only hotel in Yreka with an elevator. And I shouldn’t forget to mention they have a great meeting room. Hooray, another option for people needing a meeting place for business meetings, birthday parties, receptions, etc.

Come check it out for yourself!
