Ket’s Donuts and Teriyaki

An episode of Bizarre Foods?? Nope! It’s simply donuts and Teriyaki together - harmoniously living side by side at Ket’s Donuts and Teriyaki in Yreka. The sweet scent of deep fried donut goodness wafts through the room as an order of Pad Thai or a teriyaki bowl is quickly whipped up in the kitchen. A strange combination?? Yes! But it seems to be working.

As I’m trying to decide what to order, a trio of rugged guys pile through the door and promptly order “3 specials!” One of the guys says to me - “just order the special - you can’t go wrong”. I ended up ordering a noodle dish that day (I’m rebellious) - and I must say - it rocked!! Ramen type noodles with really fresh broccoli, carrots and chicken coated in a yummy thai sauce…… I could do that again easy! It’s simple, it’s fresh and it’s fast.

The other notable feature at Ket’s is their Pho Noodle Soup - folks come from far and wide just for this soup! Oh and the donuts are great too! One other thing - this place is abuzz with Yreka High School students at about noon each day (not a warning ;) - just a heads up).

Phet joined his family about a year ago and has been keeping a tight ship at Ket’s. I’ve watched them make simple improvements to the restaurant and there are more to come according to Phet, including some fun outdoor dining when the weather warms up.

Donuts and Teriyaki - East meets West - embracing diversity in Yreka - soooo cool!

BEST APPLE FRITTERS IN THE WORLD.

I’d like to file a formal request that vietnamese sandwiches be added to this south asian tinged menagerie of culinary offerings.

Hi Zac,
“south asian tinged menagerie of culinary offerings” - that’s a mouth full and I agree! Sandwiches - Yea!

Bill - you’re right! I’ve had their fritters before. They are really good!

There’s a wonderful place in Arcata that sells pizza, donuts, & vietnamese sandwiches. Reminds me of Ket’s. I’m glad to see that Ket’s is surviving without college kids and their, uhm, “cravings” to bring in business.

i personally love the donuts! especially the fritters! sandwiches sound awesome. i’m getting hungry already.

Zac, that’s a cool combination. I’m craving it and I, uhm, “dont have cravings” :)

Syshana - me too:)
